About Me

I am a Civil Engineer by trade. I’m currently working for a multinational Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) company, I’m particularly involved in Utilities/Infrastructure engineering and technical operations.
I was born in Ecuador, South America. From a very young age I was always interested in my father’s construction business. My family always teased me when I clamorously used to say that I will become a bricklayer journeyman (not a very attractive career move according to them). Now they feel proud of my accomplishments, specially moving to the United States during my early teens and graduating first in my high school class, then pursuing a career in engineering and successfully graduating CUM LAUDE at the very top of my class, and finally landing a challenging technical job for a Fortune 500 company. It’s been a journey so far, and I’m looking at the future for more.
Reading will set you free! I read political satire blogs, essays or anything I can get.
I enjoy exploring new places, art, and architecture.
I’m a photography enthusiast and particularly enjoy adrenaline sports, I’ve gotten feedback quite a few times from people who start to know me that I’m a thrill seeker. I don’t see myself as one, maybe I’m just an occasional hell-raiser. By no means I’m pretending to be a “cool” person by having a blog… I’m not a cool person by any social mainstream standards and certainly do not want to be one. Although, I like meeting cool people or at least people I think live an interesting and productive life who will be able to inspire me and give me a more positive perspective of the world. I strongly believe in the power of your past experiences and accrued wisdom, and I also believe they eventually come with time and patience but only if you go out and meet them half-way. After all we are all born weak, helpless, and foolish. With time we become strong, with time we develop common sense.
Welcome to my page, the place of mindful observations from the eyes of a savvy young professional.
